The Play 4 Mary Campaign was formed to raise awareness for pediatric cancer, empower our youth athletes and allow them to play with purpose.
Mary was an all around athlete, excelling in every sport she played - lacrosse, softball, swimming, basketball and soccer. Mary gave 110% on the field.
The Play 4 Mary Campaign was launched in 2020 and had great momentum before the pandemic struck. NCAA schools committed to a Play 4 Mary day included Boston College, Hofstra University, Columbia University, Siena College, Molloy College and Holy Cross. Due to COVID-19, this year the Foundation decided to focus locally on our youth programs. Our hope is to get as many High School and club teams to participate as possible. Girls will be provided Play 4 Mary bows in their team colors and gold laces for their cleats, representing pediatric cancer awareness. Through social media we can raise awareness for pediatric cancer with the ultimate goal of raising funds to allocate to cancer specific to children. Hard to believe, but presently only 4% of all cancer research dollars is allocated to pediatric cancer.
